Handlung
Der junge Mogli ist nach einem Zwischenfall von seiner Familie getrennt und von nun an alleine im indischen Dschungel unterwegs. Er findet jedoch schon bald Zuflucht bei der Wolfsmutter Rakcha, die ihn als einer seiner Kinder aufzieht. Allerdings hat es der Tiger Schir Khan auf ihn abgesehen und Mogli bringt das Wolfsrudel unfreiwilig in Gefahr. Als er letztendlich von den Wölfen verstoßen wird, nehmen sich der Bär Balu und der Panther Baghira seiner an. Gemeinsam machen sie sich auf, Mogli zurück zu den Menschen zu bringen. Auf dem Weg durch den Dschungel bekommen sie es aber mit allerhand Gefahren zu tun, so auch der hinterhältigen Schlange Kaa und allen voran der Tiger Schir Khan, der immer noch hinter dem Menschenjungen her ist...
