Sinopsis
El comandante Finchhaven fue un militar que, en la Primera Guerra Mundial (1914-1918), estando borracho, cayó muerto durante su primera misión. Desde entonces ha sido condenado a navegar sin rumbo por los mares hasta que encuentre la oportunidad de redimirse. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945), Finchhaven consigue rescatar con su barco fantasma a cuatro marinos americanos, acción que podría liberarlo de su condena.
