Sinopsis
Manikoora es una isla de los mares del Sur azotada desde siempre por los tifones, aunque hace años que no ha sufrido ninguno. Es una colonia francesa cuyo gobernador ejerce el poder al margen de de las tradiciones y costumbres de los nativos. Según una leyenda local, cuando la tiranía rebasa ciertos límites, los pájaros abandonan la isla y el mar ruge enfurecido. La relación amorosa entre dos nativos, Marama (Dorothy Lamour) y Terangi (Jon Hall), se verá en peligro cuando él sea encarcelado injustamente en Tahiti...
