Synopsis
Au début des années soixante-dix sur la côte nord-ouest de l’Écosse, la communauté d'une petite ville célèbre à contrecœur le mariage de Bess, jeune fille naïve et pieuse, et de Jan, homme d'âge mûr qui travaille sur une plate-forme pétrolière. Leur bonheur va être brisé par un accident qui va paralyser Jan.
