Synopsis
Sur le chemin de Canterbury, rencontre d'un soldat américain en permission, d'un sergent anglais organiste et d'une jeune vendeuse engagée dans la Défense Civile. Ils reprennent une tradition du passé, le pèlerinage au lieu saint, pour y chercher repentir et bénédiction. En chemin, ils démasqueront un névrosé qui asperge de colle les cheveux des femmes : le baronet d'un village du Kent, homme respecté et solitaire, spécialiste d'archéologie.
