Synopsis
Une jeune femme est retrouvée morte. Rapidement, les médias s'emparent de l'affaire et découvrent que la victime était la maîtresse d'un politicien en vue, Stephen Collins. Cal McCaffrey, journaliste chevronné et ami de longue date de ce dernier, est chargé par sa rédactrice en chef d'enquêter sur ce décès suspect. Il ignore qu'il va être confronté à un complot qui menace les structures mêmes du pouvoir…
