Synopsis
Le chien noir est une apparition obsessionnelle bien connue des chauffeurs routiers acculés à la limite de leurs forces mentales et physiques, souvent a l'origine de terribles accidents. C'est ce qui est arrivé à Jack Crews, qui a purgé une longue peine de prison pour avoir provoque un dramatique accident après s'être assoupi au volant. Libéré mais criblé de dettes, il accepte une proposition douteuse d'un certain Cutler : conduire un camion chargé d'une cargaison mystérieuse.
