Synopsis
Bonimenteur de fête foraine, Stanton Carliste entre en possession du secret d'un numéro truqué de lecture des esprits. Grâce à ce secret, il devient le "clairvoyant" à succès de Chicago. L'affaire qu'il a montée avec la liseuse de carte Zeena et le docteur Lilith Ritter, un psychologue, est prospère. Molly, sa jeune femme, est aussi de l'affaire même si c'est à contrecœur qu'elle participe aux démonstrations, mais elle ne peut tout accepter. Ecœurée, c'est en pleine exhibition, alors que "le Grand Stanton" était en train d'abuser une riche clientèle, qu'elle dénonce la supercherie...
