Synopsis
Durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, à Londres, Stephen Neale est relâché après un séjour en hôpital psychiatrique. De retour à la vie normale, et désireux de goûter aux joies simples de la vie, il se laisse attirer par le charme et l'ambiance d'une fête foraine. Après y avoir rencontré une voyante, il joue et remporte un beau gâteau. Ce dont il ne se doute pas, c'est qu'il n'aurait jamais dû accepter l'innocente pâtisserie qui renferme, en fait, un microfilm destiné à des espions nazis. S'ensuit alors une course-poursuite engagée par les agents secrets du Reich pour retrouver les compromettants documents ainsi que son infortuné propriétaire…
