Synopsis
Paul Brenner, un des meilleurs enquêteurs de la CID (Division des enquêtes criminelles de l’armée américaine) est appelé au fort Mac-Callum pour mettre fin a un trafic d'armes. Il fait la connaissance du capitaine Elisabeth Campbell, séduisante instructrice des opérations psychologiques avec laquelle il engage un flirt sans conséquence. Quelques heures plus tard, il apprend que la jeune femme a été violée et assassinée dans l'enceinte du fort. Il découvre par la même occasion qu'Elisabeth est la fille du général Campbell, futur vice-président du pays.
