Synopsis
Une chanteuse de music-hall, petite amie d'un gangster, est traquée par la police qui cherche à la faire témoigner contre son amant. Elle trouve une planque insolite : une maison qui abrite huit savants (dont sept âgés) retirés du monde, devant établir une encyclopédie. Les érudits vont être troublés par la beauté mais aussi l'argot de la jeune femme.
