Synopsis
À travers des extraits de ses concerts, de ses archives filmées et de ses interviews, ce remarquable documentaire retrace avec sensibilité les expériences formatrices ainsi que les hauts et les bas, existentiels et artistiques, de Townes Van Zandt – du début de sa carrière musicale, inspirée par les premiers disques de Bob Dylan et par Lightnin' Hopkins, barde légendaire du blues, jusqu'à sa mort précoce après un accident. Ses managers, ses enfants, ses trois épouses successives et de nombreux amis musiciens éclairent sa personnalité et laissent transparaître toute l’affection qu’ils portaient à ce troubadour maudit.
