Synopsis
Après être devenu orphelin à la suite d'un raid aérien sur Port-Saïd pendant la crise de Suez, un jeune garçon tente de se rendre seul du canal de Suez à Durban en Afrique du Sud, où vit sa plus proche parente, tante Jane. En chemin, il rencontre diverses personnes qui facilitent ou entravent son voyage, notamment un trafiquant de diamants vieillissant.
