Synopsis
Pendant longtemps, la Walt Disney Company pensait avoir perdu l’intégralité de l’émission télévisée de 1959 « Kodak présente Disneyland ’59 », célébrant l’ouverture du Matterhorn, du monorail et du Submarine Voyage. Seuls quelques extraits subsistaient dans le court-métrage Gala Day at Disneyland, tandis que l’émission complète et ses rushes couleur semblaient définitivement perdus. En 2006, à l’occasion du coffret DVD Walt Disney Treasures – Votre hôte, Walt Disney, un enregistrement kinescope en noir et blanc a été retrouvé et publié. Ce type d’enregistrement, filmé à partir d’un écran de télévision, offre une qualité d’image limitée. Cependant, un archiviste des studios Disney a également redécouvert les rushes originaux des séquences préenregistrées diffusées en direct en 1959. Intégrées au kinescope, elles apparaissent aujourd’hui dans une qualité nettement supérieure au reste du programme.
