Synopsis
Un instructeur maussade d'une école préparatoire de la Nouvelle-Angleterre reste sur le campus pendant les vacances de Noël pour garder une poignée d'étudiants qui n'ont nulle part où aller. Il noue bientôt un lien improbable avec un fauteur de troubles intelligent, mais endommagé, et avec la cuisinière en chef de l'école, une femme qui vient de perdre un fils pendant la guerre du Vietnam.
