Synopsis
Reed Richards tente de persuader Victor Fatalis, un riche industriel originaire de Latverie, en Europe centrale, de financer une mission au cœur du cosmos pour arriver à percer les mystères de l'origine du monde. Le projet accepté, il embarque avec l'astronaute Ben Grimm, Sue Storm, son ancienne petite amie, et Johnny Storm, le frère de Sue, un pilote casse-cou. Mais une tempête cosmique fonce tout droit sur la station spatiale, répandant un nuage de particules radioactives. Les codes génétiques des astronautes en sont à tout jamais modifiés. De retour sur Terre, ils commencent à muter. La presse les considère comme des super-héros et les baptise « les 4 Fantastiques »...
