Trama
Londres, 1934. Tous les théâtres de la ville redoutent la plume acérée de Jimmy Erskine, impitoyable critique dramatique du Daily Chronicle. Après un nouvel article incendiaire dirigé contre Nina Land, la jeune comédienne décide de lui demander, en personne, des excuses. Quand Erskine se fait licencier par le nouveau directeur du journal, il met sur pied un plan pour récupérer son poste : un plan qui repose sur Nina Land.
