Trama
Nella cittadina tedesca di Holstenwall intorno al 1830 il dottor Caligari esibisce in un baraccone da fiera il sonnambulo Cesare, inconsapevole esecutore dei suoi delitti. Lo studente Franz scopre che Caligari è il direttore di un manicomio e lo smaschera.
