Trama
Al festival cinematografico di Cannes arriva la moglie italiana (Monica Vitti) di un grande produttore americano. Romantica e un po' sognatrice per natura, insoddisfatta del rapporto con l'indaffaratissimo coniuge, la donna, nel vortice della kermesse francese, si lascia coinvolgere dalla passione per un giovane e sprovveduto regista (Keith Carradine), arrivato lì in cerca di fortuna.
