Trama
Il capitano Bering, comandante della baleniera "Orgoglio di Bedford" è vecchio e malato e gli armatori hanno in progetto di mandarlo in pensione. Ma il vecchio lupo di mare ha un nipote, Jed, cui tiene molto e sul quale ha fatto molti progetti. Nel frattempo gli armatori affiancano all'uomo, Dan, un giovane capitano.
