Trama
Nel 1980 gli Usa e l'Urss firmano la fine della guerra fredda. Ne deriva una crisi dell'industria degli armamenti, con conseguente disoccupazione e malessere sociale. Negli Stati Uniti, il generale Scott prepara un colpo di stato. Il colonnello Casey, da parte sua, avverte del grave pericolo il Presidente. Prende il via un'inchiesta rapida e rischiosa sulla congiura in atto. In capo a sette giorni le trame segrete vengono svelate e il generale obbligato a dimettersi.
