Trama
Tre reduci dalla prima guerra mondiale non riescono a inserirsi nella vita pacifica e sfruttano le possibilità del proibizionismo. Il primo si dà al contrabbando, il secondo diventa un boss della mala, il terzo avvocato. Scritto da Jerry Wald, Richard Macaulay e Robert Rossen da un racconto di Mark Hellinger, è l'ultimo grande film gangster dell'epoca d'oro di Hollywood. Riprese iniziate da Anatole Litvak. Molte qualità: perentorietà del racconto, immediatezza dell'azione, secca definizione dei personaggi. Inedito in Italia dove fu importato da RAI2 negli anni '70.
