Trama
New York, 1954. Si sta girando un film sotto la stanza occupata da uno scienziato. Il quale è ricattato da un bieco senatore vicino alle posizioni di McCarthy, inquisitore repubblicano della "caccia alle streghe". Protagonista del film un'attrice sposata con un noto giocatore di baseball. L'attrice e lo scienziato si ritrovano a discutere della teoria della relatività mentre sull'umanità incombe la minaccia di una esplosione nucleare.
