Trama
Durante una notte buia l’impiegata di banca Lee Remick viene avvicinata nel suo garage dall’asmatico e folle Ross Martin. Il pazzo obbliga la donna a portare a termine un’elaborata rapina, minacciandola di uccidere l’adolescente sorella di Lee se questa dovesse avvisare la polizia. L’agente dell’FBI Glenn Ford sospetta che ci sia qualcosa sotto, per questo consiglia a Lee di stare al gioco di Martin, sperando così di catturare il pericoloso criminale con il minimo spargimento di sangue. Purtroppo, però, Martin è astuto quanto letale e riuscirà sempre a stare un passo avanti a Ford.
