Trama
Ella Peterson lavora nell'ufficio seminterrato di Susanswerphone, un servizio di segreteria telefonica. Ascolta la vita degli altri e aggiunge un po' di interesse alla sua monotona esistenza adottando identità diverse per i suoi clienti. Includono un attore di Method disoccupato, un dentista con desideri musicali, e in particolare il drammaturgo Jeffrey Moss, che soffre di blocco dello scrittore e ha un disperato bisogno di una musa.
