Trama
Storia dei Mighty Mites, il team di football dell'orfanotrofio di Fort Worth che, durante il Crollo di Wall Street, sono passati dal giocare senza scarpe a partecipare ai campionati del Texas. La squadra era guidata dall'allenatore Rusty Russell, anche lui rimasto orfano, che aveva rinunciato a lavorare con dei ragazzini privilegiati per occuparsi dei Mighty Mites. I Mighty Mites hanno scritto una pagina di storia dello sport. Durante l'epoca della Grande Depressione statunitense del 1929, hanno scalato le posizioni nell'ambito dei tornei di football.
