Trama
È la storia vera di un ufficiale della marina americana ai tempi della guerra d'indipendenza. Dopo alterne vicende J. P. Jones, questo il suo nome, ottiene il comando di una nave e infligge una grossa sconfitta agli inglesi. Ostacolato da potenti e invidiosi avversari, si mette al servizio dell'imperatore di Russia e ottiene altre splendide vittorie.
