Trama
Un uomo solo e povero tenta di rubare un regalo natalizio per la figlioletta ma viene a parole col negoziante che uccide senza volere. Viene quindi arrestato e condannato alla sedia elettrica. Nella cella della morte è presente un telefono, il governatore accetterà la sua richiesta di tramutare la pena in ergastolo e farà squillare l'apparecchio in tempo?
