Trama
In una cittadina degli Usa, una famigliola troppo vivace non riesce a tenere una persona di servizio. Finalmente arriva Elia Belvedere, che pare avere ogni virtù domestica e che in più scrive libri. Ma si tratta di un uomo. Vorrebbero cacciarlo, ma per contratto sono obbligati a tenerlo. A un certo punto, il "governante" desta i sospetti del marito e le chiacchiere poco benevole dei vicini. Ma tutto si aggiusterà.
