Handlung

Nach einem Unfall mit ihrem Sportwagen gerät die in London lebende amerikanische Krimi-Autorin Catherine Tramell unter Mordverdacht, weil ihr Beifahrer dabei ums Leben kam. Sie wird verhaftet, und der Psychiater Michael Glass erstellt ein Gutachten über sie, in dem er ihr Risikosucht attestiert. Zum Verdruss des Detectives Roy Washburn lässt der Haftrichter Catherine frei. Kurz darauf taucht sie bei Glass auf und verwickelt ihn in ein mörderisches Spiel ...
