Handlung
Der junge amerikanische Diplomat William Gridley wird an die Botschaft nach London versetzt und mietet sich bei der attraktiven Carlye Hardwicke ein, in die er sich auf den ersten Blick verliebt. Sein Vorgesetzter Franklyn Armbruster sieht die Affäre gar nicht gerne, denn Carlye steht unter dem Verdacht, ihren Mann ermordet zu haben.
