Cookie Policy
Last updated: 14/03/2026
This page explains how Monument Movies uses cookies and similar technologies, which categories of tools may be activated through the site, which third-party providers may be involved and how the user can accept, reject or modify their preferences.
The current reference for managing preferences and privacy choices is the /cookies page. The stored choice can be changed at any time from this area.
Scope of the Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Monument Movies uses cookies, local storage, online identifiers, pixels, tags, SDKs, technical logs and similar technologies when a user visits or uses the website. In this document, the term cookie is used broadly to cover both traditional text files stored in the browser and other tools used to remember preferences, maintain sessions, measure traffic and performance, protect the service, prevent fraud or support advertising and analytics activities. This policy should be read together with the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions. The effective cookie compliance of the website depends not only on this text, but also on the actual blocking of non-essential scripts before consent, the preferences expressed by the user and the configuration of the third-party providers actually enabled in production.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files or data strings that a website or third-party service can store on or read from the user’s device. Functionally similar technologies may operate through browser identifiers, local storage, invisible pixels, conversion tags, SDKs and other tools that make it possible to recognise a device, remember a preference, measure an event, prevent abuse or connect a visit with a specific advertising or analytics context. Some tools are strictly necessary for the website to function and may be used without consent where the law allows it. Tools used for non-essential analytics, advanced measurement, marketing or advertising require prior consent in jurisdictions where such consent is required.
Categories of cookies and tools used
Monument Movies uses or may use tools that are strictly necessary for the operation of the website, session management, user authentication, technical preferences, infrastructure security, abuse prevention, content delivery and application stability. Analytics tools may be used to understand, in aggregated or pseudonymised form depending on the configuration adopted, how users interact with the site, which content is most viewed, which paths generate errors and which pages need improvement. Advertising tools may also be used to display ads, limit their frequency, measure their performance, prevent ad fraud and, where applicable law and the user’s choice allow it, support certain forms of ad personalisation.
Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies and technologies are essential for browsing, security, site display, temporary storage of a technical preference, authentication management or protection against abuse. They may relate in particular to load balancing, anti-fraud measures, network security, user sessions, consent-choice storage and account features. These tools are not used to build an advertising profile and cannot be disabled from the website preference centre when they are essential to the service requested. The user may block them through the browser, but some features may then no longer work properly.
Analytics cookies and audience measurement
The website uses or may use Google Analytics or equivalent tools to measure audience, understand page views, detect errors, monitor technical performance and improve the user experience. Where these tools are not strictly necessary or fall outside exemptions provided by applicable law, they should only be activated after the user has consented to the analytics category. In the current code configuration, analytics scripts are designed to load only when the user has accepted the relevant category. If the user refuses or withdraws consent, Monument Movies must prevent any new storage or reading of the relevant tools as far as technically possible.
Advertising cookies, Google AdSense and certified CMP
The website uses or may use Google AdSense to display ads and finance free access to the service. Advertising tools may allow ad serving, frequency capping, performance measurement, ad fraud prevention and, where applicable law and user preferences allow it, ad personalisation or contextualisation. For users located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the use of Google advertising products must be coordinated with a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework where required by Google and by the advertising configuration chosen. Until this certified CMP is integrated, Monument Movies should keep a cautious approach and should not treat its internal banner as a full replacement for a TCF CMP for AdSense purposes in those territories.
Third-party providers, hosting and technical services
The main providers that may be involved in cookies or similar technologies include hosting, content delivery, security, authentication, database, storage, analytics and advertising services. The website is hosted and distributed through Cloudflare Pages, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Some application features, including authentication, database, storage, account management and user generated content, may rely on Supabase, Inc.. Analytics and advertising services may include Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Each provider may process technical data, online identifiers, browser settings, navigation events or other data required for its service according to its legal role and the technical configuration adopted.
Retention periods and validity of the user choice
Cookie duration varies depending on the nature of the cookie, its purpose and the website’s technical configuration. Some cookies are session cookies and are deleted when the browser is closed. Others may persist for a longer period to remember a preference, store a privacy choice, prevent abuse, measure recurring visits or support ad delivery. The consent choice stored by Monument Movies is retained for a maximum of 180 days in the current site configuration. After that period, or if the choice is deleted, the user may be asked to express preferences again. Third-party provider durations must be verified during the production technical audit and updated if the real mapping changes.
Consent management, refusal and withdrawal
When the user visits the website from a jurisdiction where prior consent is required, an interface must allow them to accept, refuse or customise non-essential categories. Refusal must be as accessible as acceptance and withdrawal must be possible at any time. The current reference for preference management is /cookies. Withdrawal of consent takes effect for the future. If the user withdraws consent for analytics or marketing, Monument Movies must stop activating processing operations based solely on that consent and prevent any new storage or reading of the relevant tools as far as technically possible.
Browser controls and opt-out signals
The user can also manage or limit cookies through browser or device settings. Modern browsers allow users to delete existing cookies, block third-party cookies, refuse all cookies or receive a warning before cookies are stored. These choices may however impair certain website features, especially those relying on sessions, authentication or persistent preferences. In some jurisdictions, universal browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control may be recognised for rights relating to targeted advertising or data sharing. Monument Movies may adapt its handling of such signals depending on applicable laws, regulatory thresholds reached and available technical capabilities.
Production technical audit
The exact list of cookies, scripts, third-party domains and effective durations must be verified after the production build and deployment, because it depends on the actual configuration, environment variables, provider accounts, any CMP enabled and the behaviour of third-party scripts. This audit must in particular verify the domains called before and after consent, cookies stored after refusal, cookies stored after analytics acceptance, cookies stored after marketing acceptance, and the consistency between the code, the banner, the CMP and this policy.
