The small town of Springdale is being tormented by a serial killer and Abby Jenkins was the only "lucky" one who escaped his vicious attack. After her examination, she finds out that she is pregnant. Once she has the baby boy (Matty), she realizes she could never love this child and chooses to kill herself. This forces her parents to raise Matty.
