Plot

"Homeland continues to explore the juxtaposition of two worlds. However, in its latest rendition, the work transitions from a multi-channel installation to a single-channel film, shifting from spatial immersion towards a more focused narrative experience. At its core, the piece draws upon the Chinese funerary rite, yet instead of following a conventional path of departure, it contemplates a reverse procession. Where the previous Installation had its 3-Channel enveloped viewers in a wide-open environment—creating a ritualistic space to witness and inhabit—this single-channel format calls for a more directed experience. In this new form, Homeland is less a site-specific ceremony and more an inward journey—one of return, memory, and spiritual resonance. It is a meditation on the space between [1] the seen and the unseen, between tradition and the personal, carried by a language of refined image and poetic soundscape.
