Plot
Independent Indigenous highlights four different voices by elder women from two different minorities shares their truths about freedom, cultural heritage and independence. A craftswoman from the Guna Yala community in Panama and three women from the Sami community in Northern Sweden, including a reindeer herder and a forest shaman. Four voices expressing their views on the connection to roots and the notion of independence, both collective and personal. A story of prosperity, the relationship with their tribes, between men and women, knowledge of the history of the family line, the history of struggles and culinary sharing.
