Kaustubh "Vick" Singh
Biography
Kaustubh Singh (a.k.a. Vick) is a narrative and documentary film producer based in New York City. Originally from Singapore, Vick’s short films have been featured at prominent domestic film festivals, including Tribeca, Slamdance, New Orleans, Palm Springs Shortsfest, Outfest, NewFest, Frameline, and NFFTY, as well as renowned international festivals such as In The Palace, QCinema, FIRST, and Cinemalaya. His acclaimed documentary projects include THAT WAS RAY (2019), which was a Student Academy Award® finalist, and PEACE OF HER OWN (2020), which won the Leo Freedman First Cut Award and was subsequently shortlisted for a GSA-BAFTA student film award. His narrative short film ÉVANGÉLINE (2024) won the best student film award at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival. Internationally, ABUTAN MAN TAYO NG HOUSELIGHTS (2023) was nominated for best short film by the Society of Filipino Film Reviewers in 2023. His upcoming film NIKOLA, NIKOLA (2025), is set in Skopje, North Macedonia. The project and its director, Leon Ristov, were recently selected for the Sundance Ignite x Adobe Fellowship, screening at the Sundance Film Festival 2026. At Columbia University, Vick was awarded the PepsiCo Scholarship by the Harriman Institute in 2024. Subsequently, in 2025, Vick was awarded the prestigious Arthur Krim Memorial Award by Columbia University for excellence in the field of film Producing. He also won prestigious awards from Indian Paintbrush and Film Manufacturers' Inc. He is also an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow and a nominee for the National Board of Review Student Grant. Currently developing and co-financing projects through Obluda Films, Vick is dedicated to using film to illuminate the stories of underrepresented communities around the globe.
